Robert Bywater Research Associate
Theory of information, molecular shape modelling, cryptography and Clifford algebras.
Dr Robert Bywater is a research associate at the London Institute. He studied chemistry, physics and maths at University College London, and did his PhD in Quantum Chemistry, also at UCL. Dr Bywater’s career has taken him from UCL to Birkbeck and, via stints in Sweden and Denmark, Oxford. Most recently, he has been based at the Francis Crick Institute in London. His current work focuses on information theory, cryptography and number theory, but also returning to unsolved problems in mathematical shape modelling and trying to tackle them using Clifford algebras. Outside research, his interests include walking, cross-country skiing, and composing poetry.
