Robert Bywater

Dr Bywater is a Visitor at LIMS and was most recently at the Crick Institute. His research is on physical chemistry and information theory.

Dr Robert Bywater is a visiting researcher at the London Institute. He studied chemistry, physics and mathematics at University College London, where he also did his PhD in quantum chemistry. His career has taken him from University College London to Birkbeck, University of London to Oxford, via stints in Sweden and Denmark. Most recently, he was based at the Francis Crick Institute in London. Outside research, his interests include writing poetry.

Dr Bywater works on information theory, cryptography and number theory, as well as problems in mathematical shape modelling.
