Federico Carta
Dr Carta is a Leverhulme Postdoctoral Fellow at LIMS. His research focuses on string theory, phenomenology and quantum field theories.
Dr Federico Carta is a Leverhulme Postdoctoral Fellow at the London Institute. He studied physics at the University of Padua, before doing his PhD at the Institute for Theoretical Physics in Madrid. His thesis focused on supersymmetric quantum field theories engineered from various limits of superstring theory and F-theory. Carta went on to do postdocs at the Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron in Hamburg, and later at Durham University, where he stayed for three years. Outside research, Carta enjoys the great outdoors and the ocean. He is a keen snorkeller.
Dr Carta works on string phenomenology, which connects string theory and real world physics, and on string theory’s interplay with quantum field theory.
