## Background
For the last two years, the London Institute has run the world’s largest programme to recruit Russian and Ukrainian physicists and mathematicians. ## Job
The positions last for two years and Postdocs will be supervised by one or more of the London Institute’s Fellows. Salaries begin at £45,000, depending on experience. In our early years, when our scientific reputation was less established, our trustees tended to be scientists and government advisors. But now that we’ve grown in stature, we are looking for trustees with experience beyond science—especially in business, media or finance.

Above all else, trustees should believe in our core values, especially our commitment to basic science, hiring on merit and focus on simplicity. Trustees do not need a background in science. Evgeny Sobko is a Fellow at LIMS. Previously a Landau Fellow, he took up the new post after a global competition for our new Fellowship.

The London Institute for Mathematical Sciences was founded by Dr Thomas Fink to fix this, offering a new model for how to make more ambitious discoveries faster.
