Edward Hirst

Dr Edward Hirst is a visiting researcher at the London Institute and a postdoc at Queen Mary University of London. While studying theoretical physics at Imperial College London, he spent time at MIT exploring the application of machine learning algorithms to open data provided by CMS at CERN. He went on to do his PhD at City, University of London under the supervision of Prof. Yang-Hui He. His PhD research was on mathematical objects within theoretical physics, particularly those related to string and gauge theories. In his spare time, he skis, surfs and skates.
