Dame Shirley Porter
Dame Shirley was a LIMS Trustee. She is a co-founder of the Porter Foundation, which supports several organisations in the UK and Israel.

Dame Shirley is a former Trustee of the London Institute. She was elected to Westminster City Council as a Conservative councillor in 1974, leading the council between 1983 and 1991, when she was made Dame of the British Empire. From 1991 to 1992, she was Lord Mayor of Westminster. In 1970, Dame Shirley co-founded and heads the Porter Foundation, which has endowed the National Portrait Gallery, Royal Academy and V&A museum in the UK. Through the foundation, she has also championed major projects at Tel Aviv University—including the Porter School of Environment and Earth Sciences—and backed research, access to higher education and public health programmes.
