We consider applications from outstanding Russian, Ukrainian and Belarusian theoretical physicists and mathematicians for the Fellowships.

About the role

Our Arnold and Landau Fellowships are full-time positions and last for three years. Salaries are benchmarked against comparable posts at the University of London. Visas will be issued via the UK Global Talent programme. This programme offers indefinite leave to remain at the end of the three years. Job activities include:

  • Conduct research in theoretical physics or mathematics
  • Publish discoveries in top journals and disseminate them
  • Be present in the building and interact with scientists and staff
  • Be curious about the work of other researchers at the Institute
  • Help communicate our research and vision to broad audiences

About the candidate

Candidates must be theoretical physicists or mathematicians with an outstanding academic record. Applications will be considered from theorists at any stage in their career following completion of a PhD.

While applications are invited from candidates working on any of our five research themes, those in life, learning and emergence, or with a statistical physics background, are especially encouraged. We will give particular attention to researchers working in condensed matter theory, network science, quantum information or complex systems.

About applying

To apply, please send your CV to at@lims.ac.uk. Strong applicants will be invited for an interview.

Applications will be evaluated on a rolling basis until suitable candidates are appointed. So far, five of the ten Fellowships have been filled.
